Who We Are
Arte Research is an independent consultancy operating in the West Midlands and South West, with bases in Birmingham and Bristol. The consultancy was set up by Dr. Anna Hraboweckyj and Dr. Leon Quinn. We specialise in working where the interests of the public and third sectors meet.
Arte Research specialises in developing effective relationships between not-for-profit bodies and public authorities and agencies, and has worked with many clients from both.
Anna Hraboweckyj PhD, BA Hons, MIED, is an experienced consultant. Prior to setting up Arte Research she worked for the Birmingham based consultancy company CSR Partnership. Before that, she held a number of leading positions on behalf of the voluntary and community sector in the West Midlands and has been the director of several charitable companies. Anna is a postgraduate of the University of Birmingham.
Anna's background combines academic theory, public policy and strategy with a practitioner's direct and thorough knowledge of regeneration, social capital and community development. She has worked extensively on diversity-related issues with BME, women's, Traveller, refugee and asylum seeker, disability, learning difficulty and other equalities groups.
Anna has considerable hands on experience, having managed many community projects. She has also developed EU, national and regional policy. She has taken proactive roles on a range of partnership bodies, and carried out research and evaluations using innovative, community-friendly methods based on her understanding of community development.

Leon Quinn PhD, BA Hons, is an experienced researcher and consultant. He has worked on a number of assignments for clients in the public and third sectors. A postgraduate of Bristol University, Leon previously worked for the Department of Education and Lifelong Learning of Bristol City Council. Prior to that he worked as independent researcher in Berlin, as well as an Associate Lecturer for the Open University.
Leon is a PTAS-approved consultant and has been an independent consultant since 2005. Working with a broad spectrum of clients, including diverse equalities groups, he has developed a practice-based understanding of internal community dynamics and the development of non-standard analytical tools and approaches.
Leon has been active for several years in the local community and voluntary sector, with a strong interest in public health, organisational development and the environment. He is highly skilled in qualitative as well as quantitative data and information analysis. He communicates well with people from a range of agencies and sectors. He specialises in producing easy to read yet academically robust reports. Leon also speaks fluent German.
